Winebuyers Overfunded on Crowdcube.

Largest Online Wine Retailer in Europe

Sector – eCommerce and Technology

Background

Winebuyers is the UK's largest online wine retailer, offering thousands of bottles from diverse producers and vineyards across the world. The company was preparing to launch a crowd funding campaign on Crowdcube, Europe's largest crowd funding platform to drive further growth and development. Unsatisfied with the initial business plan created by another agency, the CEO instructed Exalte Consulting to create a more robust, accurate and persuasive business plan.

The Problem

Their existing business plan was created using a template by a third-party firm, lacked key costs, and consequently was undercapitalized. Additionally, the financial projections had a number of implausible assumptions, and the entire presentation was uninspiring and visually unappealing.

Our Solution

We began development after extensive consultation with the Winebuyers team to ascertain their achievements, milestones, growth objectives, business model, value proposition, business development drive, personnel requirements, strategic focus and many more.

The ensuing business plan was comprehensive, persuasive, and visually appealing. Furthermore, the accompanying financial model was thorough and comprehensive, developed using reasonable assumptions. The initial plan stated that the business required £350,000, whilst a more comprehensive financial analysis undertaken by Exalte Consulting put the adequate capital raise at £525,000 in capital to achieve its growth objectives.

Outcome

The plan was listed on Crowdcube within days of completion and successfully raised £580,000, thus oversubscribed by £65,000.
